Engineering is look like a world for a man. Especially in oil service, where there is full of tension, strength, stress, and many aspects that it’s no suit for women. A suit place for women to work is in office with air conditioned, regular work hour. As engineer in oil service, where there is no regular work hour, you could be called for job in the middle of night, and the job is place in the middle of the jungle.

But for me, women who worked as field engineer has something better than women who work in office. They have strong mental, and have no fear working with men in surrounding.

So for you women who is working in field…two tumbs up for you…..

PS: This note is for celebrating Kartini’s Day, she is first person who is struggling for equality for Indonesian women.

From Wikipedia

An engineer is a person professionally engaged in a field of engineering. Engineers are concerned with developing economical and safe solutions to practical problems, by applying mathematics and scientific knowledge while considering technical constraints. As such, the work of engineers is the link between perceived needs of society and commercial applications. Some consider this profession to be the link between art and science.

During my probation, my supervisor said that good engineer must have two things good knowledge and the most important thing is good attitude. We can get knowledge (formula, equation, tools description) by the book (and FOM hihihhihih…^_^), but attitude..Hmmm..it’s hard to say we cannot find it in book, but for sure, it’s hard to change our bad attitude to good one..

Let’s say you are engineer that knowing every technical things but you don’t have good attitude. May be there is no one that wanna work with you. Cos in team, the most important thing’s team work..!!!!

Well, that’s from my opinion. What do you think guys???

Ok…this is my first post after 3 months, I didn’t post anything…For that long, I have to finish my probation as Field Prof, Associate Logging and Perforating, in Halliburton Wireline and Perforating, Duri.

My job as a trainee in here is learn, learn., and learn…Even we are going to be an engineer, but we must study from below, cos for me this is new thing that slightly different with my major in college.

For your infotmation, in here a lot of kind hazard, because we use Radioactive, explosive and also the weight of the tool is so heavy, it can break your back, if you don’t lift it in proper…so safety first..!!!

In probation, the are no difference whether you will be open hole or cased hole engineer. We also have schedule that we must obey, for example, today I was assigned in Sonde Lab, so for all day long I have to study about what they’re doing, the tools in Sonde lab. Or if I was assigned in truck, so I must follow the job in that truck.

My first job is called backoff with T-302,and Pak Yudi is as engineer in charge. The rig was BN#5 in Petani Field. This job is try to recover stuck pipe by “shake” it using explosive…And the worst part is coming…we left our base on Dec 30th and we back on Jan 2nd. It means, I spent my New Year eve in Rig….hiks…but I gain a lot of experience in my first job…

In my exposure, I performed many kind of jobs like open hole job, tubing puncher job, CBL (Cement Bond Log), perforation (deepstar and 5 inch gun).

In the end of my probation, I should present a tool in presentation and also we have evaluation test. I got HRI (High Resolution Induction) tool as a theme for my presentation.

Finally after 3 hours test with Pak Eko for operational skill, and 2 hours with Pak Radix for Lab skill, the days off is in front of my eyes…..hahahaha

Hopefully, the result is I can pass this probation test….

Ok let’s forget triple combo, spanner, CBL, Cast V and other friend..hehehehhe

Enjoy the days off…..JOGJA..I’m coming..!!!!

Global Walk

This is the main purpose why they invited us. This is annually event. It’s like cross country. Not only from Indonesia but also from China, South Africa, and Korea joined this event.

It’s very tiring….

But it’s fun because I can know Korean city by walking….

Even though we only passed small city (sub urban) but it’s big experience for me….

My journey to Korea end at Incheon, because my flight still 1 hour..so I can take a look around inside the airport….

So I have already been 2 weeks in Korea but It’s the best trip I’ve ever had….

Anyong gaseyo….Korea and my Korean friend (Jin Woo, Sun Young, Woong Ki) and my Chinese friend (Summer, Ruby, Ming Tha,Tony), South Africa friend (Leebone, Motshabi, Mr. Dingga)

Kamsahamnida….

After 2 months, I didn’t post in my blog, finally I’m back with a lot of stories..

My journey to Korea, it’s started when Mr. Suray (Head of Korean Dept) sent me sms. The sms said that I won the essay contest and I am selected to represent UGM to Korea.

I got invitation to Global Walk. This event is held by Hanseo University, Korea. Hanseo University is our partner in KKN (social development program for UGM student).

It’s my first time to go overseas. This trip started from Yogyakarta to Denpasar, It took 1,5 hours flight. Then I changed plane to go to Incheon, Korea. This flight was 6 hours. I stepped my first foot in a land outside Indonesia at Sunday, June 22nd 2008 at 10.30 (local time).

My impression about Incheon Airport was very big and awesome…!!!!

They has train inside the airport, this train connect from my gate to place where I can take my carrier.

Outside the airport, we have been waited by Jin Woo, he’s student from Hanseo, he also came to UGM in last February.

He took me to take a look around in Incheon city, before we went to hanseo university. Hanseo is located in Seosan, it took 2 hours from incheon….

That day, I also met with Mr. Kim Seung Jae. He is one of the judges for the essay contest. We never met before, but he is the pioneer who build relationship between Hanseo Univ with UGM.

Second day….

This day, we got tour of Hanseo University, they also has separate campus, this campus is specialized in aviation, and the also have mini airport wit ATC (air traffic control ).

In this day we also met with President of Hanseo university.

To be continued,…….

Today, my age is 22 years…It’s quite  old..I think…

I just wanna say thank you to all my friend. You’r the best thing I ever had….huhuhuhwww

My wish…

This year, I could finish my study in Electrical Engineering in UGM…

and after finishing my study, I hope I can get a job…hohohooho

Ok…

One of my activity recently is searching for journal. Because I need journal for my thesis. Unfortunately…my campus has not subscribed every single journal….Ough man…that’s a pitty.!!! In other side my campus declared as a research campus, but they don’t have support facilities…

Ok…as a good student (hoax..!!!!) that condition won’t stop me….If I need journal like IEEE, I can contact my friend that study abroad in Thailand….( Mas Wayan thanks for IEEE journal…hehhehehehehhe..), but that’s take long time, and I don’t want to bother my friend…

Finally, I found one way…and It’s need more effort…

1. Open Google…..

2. Go to Advance Preference, then type “password library”, then you can specified the time. My tip is 3 month ago..!!!

3. Then in Language please choose Chinese…why?? Coz, You will find many journal in China….

4. Then clik Search..

5. There U go….U’ll find many forums in Chinese. In this forum, provide many university and it’s password. Many universities subscribe journal…

6. If you find difficulties with Chinese character. Don’t worry…You can use Google Translate..

My trick is not 100% success but I offer another way to get journal…

I would like to thanks to Google (damn…it’s the best search engine in this planet) and from elfasight.blogspot.com….

Enjoy it…

Or..by the way U have another trick???…please share with us….
